Effective date: 18 July 2026
The short version: your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly set up your own sync. We run no servers, collect nothing, and can't see your data even if we wanted to.
Everything you enter — habits, moods, journals, time logs, workouts, tasks, notes, plans, events, articles — is stored locally on your device (browser localStorage). We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your personal data.
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no ads, no trackers, no crash reporters, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
Daylog requests only permissions that power features you can see, and all data they produce stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — optional, off until you grant it: used solely for the app's digital-wellbeing feature: it reads how long your phone was in use today so Daylog can show your daily screen time and chart it against your mood. The figure is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted, never sold, never shared, and is not used for advertising or analytics. You can switch it off any time in Settings ▸ Auto-tracking ▸ Screen time, or revoke Usage access in Android settings.RECORD_AUDIO) — optional: used only while you actively tap the 🎤 Speak button, to dictate a journal entry or note. Speech recognition is handled by your device's own Android speech service; Daylog stores only the resulting text, locally. The microphone is never used in the background, and no audio is recorded, saved or transmitted by us.Any wellbeing figures you see (sleep hours, screen time, activity) are either typed by you or read from your device with your permission, and are stored locally on your device. Daylog is a personal journaling and productivity tool. It is not a medical device, provides no diagnosis or medical advice, and shares no health data with anyone.
Your data is yours: export a full backup anytime (Settings ▸ Backup & restore), and delete everything by clearing the app's site data / uninstalling. There is nothing to delete on our side, because we hold nothing.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
